Accessing Our Site

If you choose, or you are provided with a password or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential, and you must not disclose it to any third party. We have the right to disable any password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time, if in our opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these terms of use.

Information Suppliers

The main suppliers of information for the web site are iMap Centre staff. Other sources include the parents of young people placed at iMap

Access & Approval

The Website Site Administrator and iMap Site Administrator have full access to the school website. By default, all pages are user name and password protected for editing. The iMap Administrator has full control over adding new pages to the site. Information suppliers have to request a new page, which can then be created and edited by the supplier. All content for publication to the website is checked and approved by a member of the Senior Management Team prior to being published. Any persons named or identified on a web page can ask for their details to be removed. New pages will be tested for errors prior to being published. The web pages will be regularly reviewed for accuracy and will be updated as required. This review will occur at least annually. It is responsibility of the iMap Site Administrator and Senior Management Team to ensure this happens. We aim to update our site regularly, and may change the content at any time. If the need arises, we may suspend access to our site. Any of the material on our site may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update such material. While every care has been taken to ensure the accuracy, reliability, appropriateness and completeness of the contents of the website, no warranty is given to the information provided. The reader assumes full responsibility for using the information on this website and understands and agrees that neither iMap Centre nor any of its employees or agents are responsible or liable for any claim, loss or damage resulting from its use. Commentary and other materials posted on our site are not intended to amount to advice on which reliance should be placed. We therefore disclaim all liability and responsibility arising from any reliance placed on such materials by any visitor to our site, or by anyone who may be informed of any of its contents.

Child Protection Policy

The iMap Centre operates the following policy, within the non-secure sections of the site, on its website regarding the use of photographs, to ensure the privacy and safety of young people at iMap:

  1. Where young people are named, only their first names are given;
  2. Where a young person is named, no photograph of that young person is displayed;
  3. Where a photograph is used which shows a young person, no name is displayed.

By observing these points, iMap ensures that visitors to the website cannot link images of young people to names of young people. When choosing photographs for the website, iMap is mindful of the way young people may appear in them, and will not include images which are in any way inappropriate.

iMap follows a policy of seeking parents' permission, and where possible the young person's permission, before using images which show young people on the website.

No other private information about young people is ever published on the website, except within the secure password protected section of the site, such as surnames or contact details.
